  • Consultation request. Your name, email address, telephone number, preferred date, time and days, and the services you are interested in.
  • Newsletter (Legal Digest). Your first name, last name and email address.
  • Correspondence. Anything you send us when you email, call or write to us in response to the website.
  • Technical data. When you visit the website our hosting provider automatically records your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of the request in standard server logs, which we use only to keep the website secure and available.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18 through this website. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

3. How we use your personal data

We use the personal data described above to:

  • respond to your enquiry or consultation request and, where you become a client, provide legal services to you;
  • send you the Legal Digest newsletter and other updates you have asked to receive;
  • send you an acknowledgement that we have received your message;
  • operate, secure and improve the website;
  • comply with our legal and professional obligations, including record-keeping, conflict checks and anti-money-laundering requirements;
  • establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

We process your personal data on the basis of your consent (for example when you subscribe to the newsletter), because it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract with you (for example when you request a consultation), because we have a legitimate interest in running and protecting our website and practice, or because the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

4. Who we share your personal data with

We share personal data only with service providers who help us operate the website and our practice, and only to the extent needed for that purpose:

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS). The website is hosted on AWS, and messages submitted through our forms are stored and delivered to us using AWS services located in the United States.
  • Email providers. Our firm email is operated by Google Workspace. Newsletter emails may be sent through a bulk email service.
  • Embedded content. Some pages embed content from third parties, namely YouTube videos (Know Your Regulator) and Google Maps (our office location). When you load those pages, Google may collect data about your visit in accordance with Google’s own privacy policy. We use the privacy-enhanced YouTube embed, which does not set cookies until you play a video.
  • Professional advisers and authorities. We may disclose personal data to our professional advisers, insurers, regulators, courts or law enforcement where required by law or to protect our rights.

We do not share personal data with any third party for their own marketing purposes.

5. International transfers

Because we have offices in Ghana, the United States and the United Arab Emirates, and because our hosting and email providers operate internationally, your personal data may be transferred to and stored in countries other than the one in which you live. Where we do so, we take steps to ensure your data receives a level of protection consistent with this policy and with the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), including by using providers that maintain appropriate security certifications and contractual safeguards.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not track you across other websites. The website may store small items in your browser only to remember preferences on the page you are viewing, and embedded third-party content (YouTube, Google Maps) may set its own cookies when you interact with it. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; the website will continue to work.

7. How long we keep your personal data

  • Enquiries and consultation requests are kept for as long as needed to deal with your request and, if you do not become a client, for no longer than 24 months afterwards.
  • Client files are retained for the period required by our professional rules and applicable law, which is typically at least six years after the matter closes.
  • Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Every newsletter contains an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you at any time.
  • Server logs are kept for no more than 90 days.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or disclosure. The website is served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS), form submissions are transmitted and stored encrypted, and access to personal data within the firm is limited to the people who need it. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify you and the relevant authority where the law requires if a breach affecting your personal data occurs.

9. Your rights

Under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and, depending on where you are, other applicable laws, you have the right to:
