Our Regulator for today is the Ministry for Works and Housing (“MWH”). MWH is governed by the Civil Services Act, 1993 (PNDCL 327), Executive Instrument 2017( E.I 28)and the MWH Client Service Charter (the “Laws”) and it is responsible for regulating Works and Housing in Ghana.
Persons required to register with the MWH are as follows:
- Civil Engineers;
- Local Construction Companies; and
- Foreign Construction Companies working in Ghana
MWH is mandated by the Laws to register and certify the above persons and they cannot commence operations unless they have registered with and obtained the appropriate licence from the MWH. The Licence is valid for a year and it is subject to renewal.
